Salt Lake City, Utah — [May 20, 2025] – The Utah Housing Preservation Fund (UHPF) has been awarded a $625,000 grant through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines) Member Impact Fund, made possible by a $250,000 contribution from WCF Insurance. This 1.5x matching grant from FHLB Des Moines will help UHPF continue preserving and expanding long-term affordable housing across the state.
"This investment is more than a financial commitment—it’s a statement of confidence in the power of housing stability to transform lives and communities," said Lukas Ridd, Director of the UHPF. "We’re grateful to WCF Insurance and FHLB Des Moines for helping us accelerate efforts to preserve the homes that Utah families rely on for stability today and opportunity tomorrow."
Funding will support initiatives like Project Access, which connects residents in preserved affordable housing communities with critical health, education, and economic mobility services, improving quality of life for thousands of Utahns.
“We’re proud to support the Utah Housing Preservation Fund and help strengthen the foundation of our communities through access to safe, stable housing,” said Matt Lyon, CEO and President of WCF Insurance. “This partnership is one way we can help create long-term impact for Utah families.”
The FHLB Des Moines Member Impact Fund enables member financial institutions like WCF Insurance to amplify their charitable giving.
